Strengthening Early Childhood Nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)

Launched in 2025 and funded by the Anil Agarwal Foundation (Vedanta Limited), Project Balvardhan is being implemented in Dholpur district of Rajasthan with the aim of enhancing early childhood nutrition and education. Through a blend of scientifically proven interventions and strategic partnerships, the project integrates behavior change campaigns, digital tracking systems, and food fortification with technology-driven Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) — creating a scalable, sustainable model to eradicate malnutrition and foster holistic development.

Our Operational Model

We combine community centric solutions, collaborative partnerships, and data informed approaches to empower local stakeholders and enhance existing systems. By focusing on continuous monitoring, capacity building, and adaptive planning, we ensure long-term, sustainable improvements that create lasting impact.

1.

Digital and Data Infrastructure

  •  Utilizing real-time data analytics to track health and development milestones.
  •  Upskilling Anganwadi workers through specialized, scalable e-learning modules.

2.

Service Delivery and Infrastructure

  • Upgrading physical infrastructure into “Learning Hubs” equipped with age-appropriate materials.
  • Implementing targeted nutrition interventions including supplementary feeding, food fortification, and micronutrient supplementation.

3.

Community and Behavior Change

  • Driving awareness through targeted Behavior Change Communication to improve maternal and child nutrition practices.
  • Empowering mothers and families through community-based platforms that enable informed decision-making.

4.

Sustainability and Governance

  • Embedding interventions within local governance structures to ensure the model survives beyond the initial funding.
  • Standardizing the framework to allow for replication across other districts in Rajasthan.
