Established Leadership: Founded in 2014, with over a decade of experience across nutrition, immunization, supply chain, and RMNCH+A.
Strategic Problem Solving: We bridge the gap between complex public health challenges and the implementation of sustainable, evidence-based solutions.
Strong Partnerships: We work closely with government bodies, private, and civil society organizations to address complex health challenges.
Community Impact: We apply evidence-based approaches to improve access to public health and nutrition services for vulnerable and underserved communities.
To be a catalyst for strengthening public health initiatives in India for improving the lives of individuals and communities.
To support the improvement of health and well-being of the vulnerable through innovative, evidence informed, and replicable strategies in partnership with government, private sector and civil society.
The JSI R&T India Foundation has travelled its decade long journey with a commitment to people-centric processes and evidence-based programming. We see ourselves as a value-driven organization dedicated to transforming health outcomes across India.
Established as a Section 8 Company, laying the groundwork for a mission-driven organization focused on strengthening India’s public health landscape.
Conducted the foundational landscape assessment for Essar Foundation in Devbhumi Dwarka district of Gujarat. The data driven insights gave birth to our flagship nutrition improvement project, now recognized as Project Tushti.
Broadened technical expertise from nutrition to HIV/AIDS supply chain management, and adolescent health, driven by new strategic alliances with Private Organisation and Development Partners.
In partnership with Nayara Energy Limited and the Government of Gujarat, the Foundation launched a replicable multi-year nutrition improvement model, Project Tushti. This marked our strategic shift toward large-scale programs supporting the Government of India’s Poshan Abhiyaan.
Expanded into the immunization technical domain with multi-pronged community-based approaches to generate the demand for routine immunization in hard-to-reach geographies and schools, through initiatives such as Road to School and Pratiraksha Suraksha Ki Dor.
Applied supply chain expertise to support the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), safeguarding the availability and integrity of life-saving TB diagnostics and treatment across the country.
Obtained FCRA certification, enabling the Foundation to strategically channel international philanthropic capital into high-impact, locally implemented health programs.
Established a partnership with UNICEF for the project ‘Boosting Demand for Routine Immunization and Reducing Zero Dose Children’ in Uttar Pradesh.
Expanded our footprint to 145+ districts through multi-state interventions. This included establishing a major partnership with UNDP for an innovative data analytics project on immunization.
Scaling operations of the Zero Dose project across Uttar Pradesh and launching a dedicated intervention in Mewat (Haryana), one of India’s most challenging regions for improving immunization coverage.
Leveraging integrated strategies to transform outcomes across the most complex public health landscapes.
We implement comprehensive, community-centered initiatives to address both the immediate and underlying causes of public health challenges. Our approach focuses on driving sustainable change by moving people from simple Knowledge to lasting Practice (KABP).
Our 360-degree Social Behavior Change Communication methodology generates awareness and improves healthy habits through:
Harmonized Local Communication: We use a Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework to bridge the gap between medical intent and community trust. By partnering with trusted local voices from peer influencers to cultural mascots, we break down socio-cultural barriers and build lasting trust at the last mile.
Influencer Engagement: We engage key community influencers and institutions, including PRI members, educators, and faith leaders, to transform local momentum into lasting, sustainable change.
We adopt a comprehensive partnership model that brings together diverse stakeholders to move beyond isolated projects toward a unified, sustainable impact. This approach is rooted in the belief that complex development challenges require collective action and shared ownership. We partner with government, UN agencies, CSR organisations and civil society to co-create high-impact scalable projects.
CSR Partners: Plan International, GSK, Nayra Energy Limited, Anil Agarwal Foundation
UN Agencies: UNDP, UNICIEF
CSO Partnership: Plan International, Learning Link Foundation and SHARP NGO
We strengthen the public health ecosystem by fostering inter-sectoral convergence and dismantling departmental silos. This is critical for enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring a unified approach to complex health challenges.
Operating primarily within Nutrition and Immunization, we establish seamless collaboration and convergence between the Departments of Health and Family Welfare as well as Women and Child Development ensuring coordinated public health efforts and the effective delivery of integrated services to last-mile populations.
We build the capacity of healthcare workers through need-based, evidence-driven training, technology and tools for strengthening healthcare leadership at the grassroots.
Healthcare workers are the backbone of the public health ecosystem, and empowering them is essential to achieving sustainable, community-level health outcomes. Our focus is on nursing staff, ANMs, Anganwadi Workers and ASHAs, the first trusted point of contact for millions of families. From advanced data collection tools to comprehensive LMS-based training, we are strengthening high-quality service delivery at the community level.
We translate on-ground data and routine monitoring into actionable insights/dashboards for planning and decision making.
